Jordan Hart, now back in action after a sustained period away from the court following an ankle operation, had a great day at the Gloucester Senior Silver event in late October, getting to the singles final. She did eventually lose out to top seed Hopton, but succeeded in taking her to 3 hard games and was pleased with her return to competition. Crucially her fitness held out and more sustained competition like this should set her up very well for the commonwealth games next summer.
Jordan’s father Derek tells me she is currently loving the University life at Loughborough, training hard almost every day with great facilities and top coaches. In fact she has trained so much recently she had some blisters on the bottom of her feet just from the amount of time she was spending on court – and that takes some doing for a player who is well used to putting in the hard hours. She is also loving getting to know a talented training squad with top players from all around the globe and she has little doubt that she made the right choice between Loughborough and Cardiff University. Dad Derek is convinced the next three years at university is going to hugely develop her game.
